FAQ

This frequently asked questions page is a resource to get most, if not all your questions answered before you decide to book. Of course if you have questions that are not answered here, feel free to reach out to us.

Microblading

How long will the results of microblading last?

Although there is no definitive answer because it depends on each individual’s skin type and lifesyle, the pigment will slowly fade around 12 months. However touchups are suggested to maintain brows. Factors such as density of pigment, environmental factors (UV light, tanning, not using sun protection), and your overall health/physiology (retention of pigment varies with each person) impact how long the pigment will last. If you have very oily skin, are a smoker, and/or iron deficient/anemic, pigment will fade faster. It is very important to follow aftercare instructions carefully for best results.

Is microblading the same as permanent brow tattoo?

No, It is not. The work involved with eyebrow embroidery is only performed on the epidermis layer of the skin [closer to the surface]

Does it hurt?

The sensation if microblading is said to be similar to tweezing or threading. A topical anesthetic is applied during the treatment to minimize discomfort where it becomes completely tolerable.

Note: If you are on your menstrual cycle it could increase your sensitivity to the pain so it may be best to avoid those days.

What tools are used during the procedure?

A sterilized single use blade, gauze pads, q-tips and high quality pigments. A strict cleaning, disinfection and sterilization process is followed according to State regulations. Pigment is NOT reused. All pigment and blades are discarded after the procedure.

Can I resume normal activity immediately after the procedure?

Most normal activities can be resumed right away. Heavy exercise should be avoided for at least a week for best results – any sweat formed on your brows can fade your healing color. Pools/Whirlpools should be avoided for at least a week as the chemicals will also erode your healing color. Any other activity can be resumed as long as the treatment area remains clean, dry and out of the sun.

Is there going to be any scabbing?

There can be minimal scabbing if your skin is sensitive. DO NOT pick off these scabs; picking scabs may result in a loss of color or minor scarring.

Why do my eyebrows look so dark during the healing process?

This is a result of the natural oxidation process that takes place in the skin once pigment has been implanted. The color reacts slowly with oxygen in the air, turning it darker this is
a completely natural and normal occurrence. The color will fade as your skin heals.

Does it look good?

Yes, with the microblading method, you can have natural looking brows 24/7. The process is done by hand which avoids harsh, dark, unnatural brows. Hair strokes will appear crisp, darker and more bold at first, but will soften up in appearance as the tissue heals. The area will shed, taking some color with it – this is normal. The area will begin to oxidize and darken over the first month.

How long does it take?

Expect your first microblading service to last between 2.5-3 hours. During the session, the brow technician will shape and style your eyebrows. This shaping and styling is then immediately followed up with pigment color selection.

How long does it take to heal?

After your first session it is very common for your eyebrows to appear slightly red with the color appearing very dark. This is very normal and is part of the healing process, much like a tattoo. You will see the color fade by up to 40% as it heals. A few days out, the area will continue to be dark and you will notice some scabbing. Do not pick these as it may damage your skin and the results of your microbladed eyebrows. Your eyebrow area will begin to lighten in color as it heals. Expect the full healing process to take to be 7-14 days for the eyebrows and about a month for the color to full set in.

Is my touch up session necessary?

Yes it is! Your touch up session should be scheduled 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment. Certain areas for various reasons may not pick up during your first visit and will need to be refilled.

Can I do my touch up session earlier than 4 weeks?

The homepage has 7 widget areas for you to use. You can set up as many or as few widget areas as you’d like. You can use any plugins of your choice. We walk you through step-by-step how to set up the homepage just like the demo in the theme documentation.

Is it painful?

Because everyone has different pain tolerances it’s hard to say. For most, the procedure is considered mild to none. If it’s a concern for you, ask your brow technician to apply some topical anesthetic to numb the area.

How long does it last?

Depending on a few factors such as your skin type (normal, oily, dry) and your age, most microblading procedures last 1-3 years. The area will naturally fade overtime.
